How we do it
 
STEP ONE
Carba’s carbon removal solution starts as natural biomass from almond shells, pistachio shells, hulls, corn, wood, paper and other natural waste. These types of plant waste have already done the heavy lifting of sucking carbon dioxide out of the air using solar energy but will naturally decompose if left untreated.
 
STEP TWO
Carba takes these biomass waste streams, which would otherwise decompose or burn, and treats them in proprietary reactors that convert the waste into a stable graphite-like carbon. The reactors require zero heat energy and a negligible amount of electricity from solar. 
 
STEP THREE
The carbon solids are then buried underground where they are protected from oxygen and stable for millions of years. This process mimics the formation of coal from trees millions of years ago in less than an hour.

Our engineered solution to carbon removal is measurable (we weigh every gram of carbon we sequester), traceable, and permanent. Avoid the ambiguity of short-term solutions with uncertain permanence.
